Probate -- Author Information

Bruce S. Ross, Partner-in-Charge of the Los Angeles office of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, is a certified specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law (California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization). He is a graduate (Order of the Coif) of Boalt Hall School of Law, where he was Note and Comment Editor of the Law Review.

Mr. Ross is President (2006-2007) of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law. He is a former Chair of the California State Bar Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section. Mr. Ross is a frequent lecturer on probate and trust topics, and director of probate and trust programs for The Rutter Group. He has authored and updated this Practice Guide annually since 1986.

Judge Isabella Horton Grant (Ret.), formerly of San Francisco Superior Court Probate Department, received her J.D. from Columbia University Law School. She was appointed to the Municipal Court in 1979 and elevated to the Superior Court in 1982. She practiced law for over 35 years before taking the bench and is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Hastings College of Law. She participates regularly in Rutter Group probate programs.
