Justice Zerne P. Haning III (Ret.) is a former Associate Justice of the California Court of Appeal, First District, Division Five. He was appointed to the appellate court in 1981 after serving on the Superior Court of San Mateo County. Before taking the bench, Justice Haning practiced law with a litigation firm, handling both plaintiff and defense personal injury cases. He is presently an arbitrator, mediator and private judge in San Francisco. Justice Haning has written and lectured extensively on personal injury topics and is also director of Rutter Group personal injury programs.

 | William F. Flahavan has specialized in personal injury, professional liability and insurance coverage litigation since 1972. He was Managing and Senior Partner in Flahavan, Hudson & Francis prior to the formation of the Flahavan Law Offices located in Los Angeles and Santa Rosa.
Mr. Flahavan continues to practice in the areas of his specialization and also presides over the mediation and arbitration of personal injury, professional liability and insurance coverage disputes. He is active in continuing legal education programs and is a Professor of Law at the Ventura/Santa Barbara College of Law. |

Mr. Kelly is past president of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Society of Barristers. He is also active in continuing legal education programs and appears regularly on Rutter Group personal injury panels.
