Judge Gerald Rosen was appointed a United States Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan in March 1990. Prior to taking the bench, he was a senior partner in Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone. Earlier, he was a Legislative Assistant to former U.S. Senator Robert P. Griffin of Michigan. Judge Rosen has served on the U.S. Judicial Conference Criminal Law Committee and other public boards and commissions. He has lectured to attorneys and judges nationwide on civil procedure and evidence topics and is an adjunct professor at Wayne State University Law School and Thomas Cooley Law School. Judge Rosen has written numerous articles on litigation topics and is coauthor of The Rutter Group's "Federal Civil Trials and Evidence" and Thomson West's "Michigan Civil Trials and Evidence." Judge Rosen is a graduate of George Washington University Law School.



Judge Barbara Jacobs Rothstein was appointed a United States Judge for the Western District of Washington in 1980 and was Chief Judge from 1987 to 1994. Prior to her federal appointment, she practiced law in Boston, served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington, and was a Judge of the Superior Court of Washington, King County. Judge Rothstein has been active in many professional organizations and the recipient of numerous honors, including the Federal Bar Association's "Judge of the Year" award. She has written extensively and lectured widely on litigation related topics, and has taught law at the University of Washington Law School. Judge Rothstein is presently serving as Director of the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School.



Judge Marvin E. Aspen was appointed a United States Judge for the Northern District of Illinois on July 24, 1979, and was Chief Judge from 1995 to 2002. Before then, he was a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County of the State of Illinois. Earlier, he was in private practice where he specialized in litigation and appellate advocacy, and in government practice as head of federal litigation for the City of Chicago Law Department. Judge Aspen is a member of the U.S. Judicial Conference, and a past member of the Board of the Federal Judicial Center and the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. He has written and cowritten more than two dozen articles and five books on law related topics. Judge Aspen has taught courses in evidence, criminal law and trial technique at Northwestern University School of Law, and has lectured to judges and attorneys nationwide. Judge Aspen received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.



Thomas R. Schuck is a partner in the law firm of Taft, Stettinius & Hollister in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he practices in the areas of commercial, bankruptcy and employment litigation. Mr. Schuck is immediate past national President of the Federal Bar Association, and former Barrister of the Potter Stewart American Inn of Court. In 1997, he coordinated the Federal Bar Association's Government Relations Committee's nationwide grassroots effort to promote proposed COLA legislation for federal judges. He is a Charter Fellow of the Federal Bar Association Foundation and President of the Federal Bar Association Foundation of Cincinnati. Mr. Schuck is a member of the Bar Examination Committee of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and is a life member of the Judicial Conference of the Sixth Circuit. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.



Kathleen L. Bogas is a principal in the firm of Eisenberg & Bogas, P.C. in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, specializing in employment litigation. She is currently President of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Co-Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Judicial Qualifications Committee, and a Member of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Council. Ms. Bogas is Past President of the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and Past Chairperson of the State Board of Michigan Negligence Section. She is a frequent lecturer on employment issues and trial practice. Ms. Bogas is coeditor of "Employment Litigation in Michigan," published by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
