Judge Robert E. Jones is a Senior United States District
Judge for the District of Oregon. He was a distinguished
trial lawyer and past president of the Oregon Trial Lawyers
Association. Before appointment to the federal
bench, he served as Circuit Judge for the State of
Oregon, and as Associate Justice on the Oregon
Supreme Court. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern
School of Law, Lewis and Clark College. Judge
Jones has also served on the faculties of the National
Judicial College, the American Academy of Judicial Education,
and the Federal Judicial Center, and has written
extensively on evidence and civil procedure topics.
Judge Gerald E. Rosen is a United States District Judge for
the Eastern District of Michigan. Before appointment to
the bench, he was a trial lawyer and partner in Miller,
Canfield, Paddock & Stone, in Detroit. Earlier in his
career, he served as legislative assistant to U.S. Senator
Robert P. Griffin. Judge Rosen is active in legal education,
and serves as an adjunct professor at Wayne
State University Law School and at the University of
Detroit Mercy Law School, and on the U.S. Judicial
Conference’s Criminal Law Committee. He has also written
extensively on evidence and civil procedure topics.
William E. Wegner is a partner in Gibson, Dunn &
Crutcher, in Los Angeles, and serves as general counsel
to a major entertainment company. He specializes in
complex commercial litigation and is a past president of
the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. Mr. Wegner is
a frequent lecturer on evidence and civil trial topics in
continuing legal education programs. He is a coauthor of
California Practice Guide: Civil Trials & Evidence, published
by The Rutter Group.
Judge Jeffrey S. Jones was a solo practitioner in Canby, Oregon, handling general civil litigation and criminal defense. He is a former Deputy District Attorney for
Multnomah County, Oregon. Mr. Jones is active in legal
education: He is an adjunct professor on evidence at
Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College,
and has taught advanced advocacy at Willamette Law
School. He is a frequent lecturer on evidence and trial
advocacy in continuing legal education programs. He is
a coauthor of Evidence: Oregon, published by the
Oregon State Bar.
