Internet Investigative Research 2010
Strategies and Technology Tips
In a recent decision, the court was incredulous that plaintiff's counsel failed to "Google" the missing defendant as part of the lawyer's "due diligence" process and upheld the defendant's claim of insufficient service of process. With the growing emergence of "social networking" Internet sites, an attorney's due diligence arguably must now include that online research.
This program will explore how advanced "Googling" and mining social networking sites can be used by attorneys for investigative research. As a bonus, nationally recognized Internet and technology gurus Carole Levitt and Mark Rosch (www.netforlawyers.com) will offer technology tips and highlights from their new ABA Google book, which focuses on Google Apps that you can use to practice smarter, not harder.
This is a "must-attend" seminar for both litigation and transactional attorneys and paralegals who need to learn how to become a "cybersleuth" and how to harness free or low-cost technology to compete with big firm technology budgets.
